Incredible Christmas present from Lyon to the amateur team they knocked out of the French Cup

Olympique Lyon made a wonderful gesture by offering a hefty sum of money to amateur side Saint-Cyr Collonges, who they knocked out of the French Cup 3-0, 4 days before Christmas.
Saint-Cyr Collonges play in the French seventh division and have received an unexpected financial support from Lyon of around 140,000 euros.

The two clubs recently met on December 21 in the French Cup. Despite a commendable performance from Saint-Cyr Collonges, who managed to keep the score at 0-0 in the first half, Lyon eventually prevailed 3-0 in the second half, knocking the amateur side out of the competition.
However, in the spirit of the winter holidays, Lyon's management have made a commendable gesture by offering a sum of money to Saint-Cyr Collonges, a move that has sparked excitement among the club.
In the “sixteenth” Lyon will face Lille.
Lyon are 5th in Ligue 1 with 27 points, 10 behind leaders Lens. On the 2nd place is the reigning champion, PSG, and the top 3 is occupied by Olympique Marseille, with 32 points, the same as Lille, but with a better goal difference.
Lyon lead their single Europa League group with 15 points from a possible 18, level with Midtjylland and Aston Villa but with a better goal difference. Lyon still have Young Boys away on January 22 and PAOK at home on January 29.
