Specialists from the Krasnoyarsk Regional Center for Public Health and Prevention advised parents on how to choose a sweet New Year's gift for their child.

Before purchasing sweets, you should carefully study the label. The composition should not contain flavor enhancers, flavorings and preservatives: E200, E202, E210, E249. Experts recommend giving preference to natural ingredients. It is also necessary to check the expiration date of sweet products.

“When choosing chocolate products, give preference to sweets with a cocoa content of at least 70% and a shelf life of no more than 3-4 months from the date of manufacture. We recommend choosing marshmallows, marshmallows and marmalade made with natural agar-agar. These sweets are not only tasty, but also healthier than their counterparts made with gelatin or with the addition of artificial ingredients,” experts advised.

In addition, you need to pay attention to drinks. So, a small 330 ml bottle of soda can contain about 11 teaspoons of sugar. Instead of soda, it is better to use natural and healthy fruit drinks and compotes. It is important to remember that it is not recommended to give sweets to children under 3 years of age. It is recommended to replace sweets with fruits.

Experts note that a hungry child increases the risk of overeating and digestive problems. Parents are advised not to encourage snacking on candy and cookies instead of a full meal, and not to give their child sweets as a reward.
