A man from Arad was sent to court for influence peddling, after allegedly promising various people positions in the state, within some units subordinated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and for that he allegedly received thousands of euros, informs Agerpres.

According to a press release sent on Tuesday by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Arad Court, the man is 36 years old, and the alleged acts are from the fall of 2023.

“The defendant FL, during the month of September 2023, claimed and received from the whistle-blowers MDF and MPC the sums of 8,000 euros and 7,000 lei, in several installments, in exchange for the promise that he would help them get hired in institutions within the Ministry of Internal Affairs, namely the Oradea Border Police and the Fire Sub-unit in the city of Ineu, leaving them to believes the two that he has influence over some civil servants with decision-making power in terms of making hires within these institutions”, it is specified in the said statement.

The man was sent to court in a state of freedom, for influence peddling, and the case will be judged by the Arad Court.
