In Krasnoyarsk, an unsafe school will be demolished and a modular building will be built instead

In Krasnoyarsk, instead of emergency school No. 51, a modular building will be erected, the press service of the city administration reported.

The old three-story school building on 4th Prodolnaya Street, 19 served for more than 50 years. It will be demolished. The contractor will receive about 12 million rubles.

New building with an area of ​​1800 sq. meters they plan to make it modular. The auction will be held in the spring of next year, and it should be put into operation by July 30, 2027. The building will have two blocks: an educational block with 10 classrooms and a library, a sports block with locker rooms, and a catering unit. Students from 1st to 9th grade will study there. On the school grounds there will be a sports ground for active recreation and outdoor sports.

“Each new school is not just a building, it is an investment in a common future. We see this as our main social mission: to create conditions for raising educated children and youth. It is they who, having received a quality education, will become those competent specialists who will move forward the economy of our city and region,” noted Marina Aksenova, head of the main department of education of the city administration.

School No. 51 has been under the attention of experts since 2009; in June 2023, its operation was suspended, and the children were transferred to the Pokrovsky educational complex on Yeniseiskaya, 1a.

Let us remind you that this is not the first modular building erected in place of an emergency Krasnoyarsk school. The first appeared in 2021 on Kalinina Street, and in 2023 a building was built on Glinka Street. Also this year, it became known about the city hall’s plans to build a modular building for students School No. 76 on 60 Let Oktyabrya Street, 96 while the main building is being renovated.
