A car caught fire in the parking lot of a shopping center in Ploiesti, from a candle left unattended

A fire broke out in the night from Monday to Tuesday in the above-ground parking of a shopping center in the center of Ploiesti. The flames consumed a parked car. The fire started, most likely, from an unattended candle, according to ISU Prahova.

“This night, around 01:30, the military firefighters from Detachment 1 Ploieşti were requested to intervene to locate and extinguish a fire in the above-ground parking of a shopping center in the center of Ploieşti“, says ISU Prahova.

It is about the above-ground parking of the Winmarkt complex in the center of the city, according to Telegram.

Four water and foam extinguishing vehicles, a height response vehicle and a SMURD ambulance were mobilized to the scene.

When the fire crews arrived, they found that the fire was on the ground floor of the parking lot, near a parked car, with large smoke emissions.

Cause, an unattended candle

Firefighters also acted to evacuate the smoke accumulated in that space.

There were no victims and no other cars affected by the fire.

At the end of the intervention, the firefighters determined that the fire started, most likely, from an unattended candle.
