Volodymyr Zelensky also noted that Russian air attacks remain a key element of the activities of the Kremlin and its leader Vladimir Putin. —Russian air strikes are the main stake in this war. Vladimir Putin wants to use terror to compensate for his inability to achieve his goals on earth. Therefore, each strengthening of our anti-aircraft defense literally brings us closer to ending the war, he said.
The President of Ukraine also said that the effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense will also be important for other countries. — Our capabilities will be able to guarantee the security not only of Ukraine, but also of our partners when needed. Since our security is indivisible, our air defense is intended to protect us all, he explained.
The leader also stated that talks are ongoing on further steps to strengthen the air defense system. — Negotiations are taking place both at the government level and directly with the producers of the necessary systems. There will be further effects, he announced.
Patriots for Ukraine. Germany donated its systems and bought new ones from the USA
In August, the German government announced that it would provide Ukraine with two Patriot air and missile defense systems, and within 2-3 months – additional parts for them. In return, Germany will receive new Patriot systems from the United States on an accelerated basis, to be paid for by Berlin.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius then stated that “thanks to the agreement with the US, Germany can support Ukraine first with launchers and then with additional parts of Patriot systems.”
Germany has already delivered three Patriot systems to Ukraine. According to Berlin, sending more to Kiev will not weaken Germany's contribution to the NATO defense alliance.
