Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Sunday for broader consultations with leaders of European countries following the latest talks between Ukrainian and US representatives in Miami, Florida.

“We are moving at quite a fast pace and our team in Florida is cooperating with the American side,” the leader announced on Platform X. In his opinion, “negotiations are constructive.”
“Much depends on whether Russia feels a real need to end the war – this cannot be a rhetorical or political game on its part. Unfortunately, the real signals coming from Russia remain only negative: attacks along the front lines, Russian war crimes in border areas and further attacks on our infrastructure. It is crucial that the world does not remain silent about all this,” Zelensky wrote.
Russia: The European plan takes us further from peace
An adviser to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Yuri Ushakov, said on Sunday that changes to the peace plan for Ukraine proposed by European countries and the Ukrainian side do not increase the chances for peace, Reuters reported from Russian media.
– I am sure that the proposals that Europeans and Ukrainians have presented or are trying to present definitely do not improve the document (i.e. the peace plan – PAP) and do not increase the chances of achieving long-term peace, Ushakov said.
He added that a possible trilateral meeting of Russia, the United States and Ukraine is not currently being prepared and is not the subject of talks between representatives of the Russian and American authorities held over the weekend in Miami, Florida.
The talks, which began on Saturday, are attended by Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev, and the American side, according to the media, is represented by US President Donald Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Dmitriev said on Saturday that the talks were constructive and would continue on Sunday.
The meeting in Miami comes shortly after negotiations in Berlin with the participation of Ukraine and Witkoff and Kushner, as well as a summit in the German capital at which European leaders announced that the US and Europe have committed to working together to provide Ukraine with security guarantees in the event of an end to the war.
On Friday, Witkoff spoke in Miami with a Ukrainian delegation led by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov.
The chief Ukrainian negotiator, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, announced on Friday that another round of consultations with the US on the war in Ukraine had been held that day. He was accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Andriy Hnatov. As Umierov added, at the invitation of the US, European partners were also involved in this format.
Russian-American talks began on Saturday in Florida. Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev is taking part in them, and the American side, according to the media, is represented by US President Donald Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
