Panathinaikos, the 6th-placed team in Greece's first league, will benefit from an ultra-modern stadium.

The arena will have a capacity of approximately 40,000 seats and will be a multifunctional sports complex. In addition to football, you will be able to play volleyball, handball, basketball, and other sports here. It will also have a swimming pool and a gym.

Fans of the club in Greece have waited many years for this arena, which was originally supposed to be ready in 2008. Construction had been halted due to the financial problems the club faced.

In the year 2022, Kostat Bakogiannis, the mayor of Athens, announced that the project would be resumed, with a completion period of 3 years. This could not be respected and the stadium will be ready in 2026.

Work is currently underway on the installation of the first stand, and the club has posted several images from the construction period on its official Facebook account.

“Behind the scenes of the construction: the first stand.

Work continues on our new home. The first tribune is now installed, marking a new important step in the construction process,” the Greeks wrote on Facebook.

Panathinaikos participates in the Europa League this season, where they are in 15th place, with 10 points collected in the first 10 rounds.
