The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw sent an indictment to the District Court for Warsaw-Śródmieście against Daniel Obajtekformer president of Orlen SA, Zbigniew L.former director of the Control and Safety Office in Orlen, and Wojciech K.the owner of a detective company.

Charges against Obajtek. This is what the prosecutor's office presents
According to the prosecutor's office, Obajtek had between July and December 2021 abuse of powersrecommending Zbigniew L. to conclude two contracts with Wojciech K. without a tender. Contracts for a total amount of PLN 393,000. PLN were supposedly used identifying unfair competition activitiesbut in fact, as the prosecutor's office established, they had be the implementation of Obajtek's private interestsregarding the collection of information about opposition politicians.
This act meets the criteria of a crime under Art. 296 § 1 of the Penal Code in connection with joke. 12 § 1 of the Penal Code and is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.

Daniel Obajtek comments. Here's what he said
Daniel Obajtek himself commented on the indictment on the X website. He attacked the ruling coalition, accusing it of lacking the rule of law. He also announced that “the prosecutor's conduct will be verified by the court.”
