Xabi Alonso: “They have the right to freely express their opinion”
At the press conference, coach Xabi Alonso was asked about the tense situation between the crowd and the Madrid squad.
“Fans are free and have every right to express their opinion freely. It was a difficult game because of the way things went for us. There are things we can improve on, but I take into account the situation of the team and the injuries we have had. We will take advantage of the break and start the year stronger.
I'm not here to judge. We know our situation, we have certain expectations and a certain degree of self-criticism, which will allow us to play better. We know we are not playing at our level and we want to improve,” Alonso replied.
Some things didn't go the way we wanted, and in other ways we were closer to the result we wanted, but we still got the three points. We won our last games and that allows us to start next year with the possibility to fight for all the trophies.
