The head of the KPRP, Paweł Shefernaker, estimates that Friday's meeting between President Karol Nawrocki and President Volodymyr Zelensky is a new stage in Polish-Ukrainian relations. The most important issues discussed included: exhumations in Volhynia and cooperation in the area of security, including anti-drone defense.

The Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, Paweł Głosernaker, was asked about his assessment of the meeting of the presidents of Poland and Ukraine on RMF FM.
– President Nawrocki talked about the need to clearly put Polish interests and Polish affairs in these relations, and he also spoke about it very strongly yesterday during the press conference. So these talks must be honest and gentlemanly, emphasized Paweł Głosernaker.
As he noted, the most important thing now will be to implement the arrangements made. These concerned, among others, exhumation of the victims of the Volhynia massacre. As the head of the KPRP emphasized, for the first time the presidents were accompanied during the meeting by the presidents of the Institutes of National Remembrance – from Poland and Ukraine.
– President Karol Nawrocki clearly indicated that 26 applications from the Institute of National Remembrance have been submitted and are waiting for consideration. And in accordance with the conversation that the gentlemen had yesterday, we are now waiting for the implementation of the arrangements of this visit – said the head of the KPRP. – What is specific is what President Zelensky said, that there will be no blockade – he added.
Another important issue raised by the presidents on Friday was cooperation in the production of drones. Chefernaker noted that the details are not made public. – When preparing to ensure the security of Poles, we must also use the Ukrainian experience – said Paweł Głosernaker. – There was also talk about the participation of Polish companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine – he added.
As Chefernaker emphasized, “the arrangements of the visit must be implemented.” Their implementation – as he added – will determine whether Karol Nawrocki will visit Kiev.
The President of Ukraine met on Friday in Warsaw with President Karol Nawrocki, as well as with Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Speaker of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Speaker of the Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. After the meeting with Nawrocki, Zelenskiy declared, among other things: readiness to accelerate exhumation in Volhynia and consultations on anti-drone defense.
In the afternoon, Zełenski gave an interview to Polish public media – the Polish Press Agency, Polish Radio and Polish Television. He emphasized, among other things, that “there cannot be hostility between Poland and Ukraine.” – If we were careless, we would ruin the alliance, which is important for the security of Poland and Europe, he said. When asked what the real situation was on the front, he said that “the situation on the battlefield is complicated.” When asked about the corruption scandal, he replied that Ukraine differs from Russia in that it judges crimes committed by the authorities and the media writes about them. When asked about the demand to hold presidential elections, he emphasized that he did not intend to stick to the “presidential position.” He added that if the elections can be held safely, Ukraine may organize them.
