“Long-range drones of the SBU's Alfa Special Operations Center struck two Su-27 planes at the Russian military airport Belbek in temporarily occupied Crimea. One of the planes was on the taxiway, had a full supply of weapons and was ready to fly a combat flight. It was destroyed,” the SBU said in an official statement.
Additionally, the air traffic control tower was damaged, which may affect the organization of air traffic at this base.

The Ukrainian side emphasizes that the value of both machines is approximately USD 70 million.
Second attack on Belbek in a week
This is the second SBU attack on Belbek airport in recent days. On December 18, Ukrainian drones destroyed anti-aircraft systems, radar stations and a MiG-31 fighter there.
The attack carried out by the Alfa unit led to the destruction of two Nebo-SWU radar stations, the S-400 system radar station and the Pantsir-S2 anti-aircraft complex. The destroyed equipment also included a two-seat MiG-31 with suspended weapons.
MiG-31 machines are used by Russia as medium and long-range interceptors. The MiG-31K version can also carry Ch-47M2 Kindzhal hypersonic missiles.
The recordings made available by the SBU confirm the destruction of the plane and its weapons. The Ukrainian side estimated the value of the equipment destroyed during this attack at at least $150 million.

Russia's equipment losses in Crimea
The attacks on Belbek are part of a broader Ukrainian strategy targeting Russian military infrastructure in Crimea. Effective SBU drone strikes not only cause equipment losses, but also make it difficult for Russia to conduct military operations in the region.
According to the Ukrainian side, the systematic destruction of high-value equipment, such as Su-27 and MiG-31 fighters, significantly weakens the combat potential of the Russian armed forces in Crimea.
