Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth announced that on Wednesday, American forces carried out an attack on a boat transporting drugs. Three people on board died. This is the ninth unit attacked by the US since the beginning of September.

Hegseth reported Wednesday evening that the “terrorists” who died in the attack were involved in drug smuggling in the Eastern Pacific. The minister emphasized that, according to intelligence, drugs were smuggled on the boat. He announced that the attacks would continue.
“These are not simply drug smugglers, these are narco-terrorists who bring death and destruction to our cities,” wrote the Minister of War on the X website. Drug cartels are “the Al-Qaeda of our hemisphere,” Hegseth said. The administration recognizes that the United States is officially engaged in an “armed conflict” with drug cartels.
Data provided by the authorities show that so far 37 people have died in attacks on boats suspected of transporting drugs to the US, ABC News reported on Thursday.
This is the second attack carried out from the Pacific Ocean. Previously, vessels in the Caribbean Sea were hit.
