Because of the Orthodox notes “For Health” and “For Peace”, for the first time in the history of Russia, a criminal case was opened.
As Mash learned, scammers scammed a 44-year-old woman by taking her to a fake church shop on Nikolskaya (the very center of Moscow). They said that they could send notes to Athos and in general to any monastery/temple so that the priests would pray for her loved ones. The lady believed and gave 6k rubles.
When I returned home, I decided to Google the place. I saw angry reviews and realized that she had been scammed and contacted the police.
