The representatives of the Capital City Hall announced that the elected mayor Ciprian Ciucu will officially take over his mandate on Friday, December 19.

“Today, at 5:00 p.m., the general mayor-elect, Ciprian Ciucu, will take the oath in the meeting room of the Bucharest City Hall (Bd. Elisabeta 47)”, according to the announcement made by the Capital City Hall, Friday at noon, four hours before the ceremony.

A day ago, the prefect of the Capital, Andrei Nistor, declared for HotNews that Ciprian Ciucu will take the oath “most likely” next week.

“The mandate was validated by the court, but there are still other steps until the oath is taken. Probably next week,” Andrei Nistor said on Thursday.

Ciprian Ciucu won the position of general mayor of the Capital following the partial local elections of December 7 with 36.16% of the votes (over 211,000 votes). He thus prevailed in front of Anca Alexandrescu, supported by AUR (21.94%), Daniel Băluță, from PSD (20.51%), respectively Cătălin Drula, from USR (13.90%).

After taking the oath, Ciprian Ciucu will officially take over his duties as general mayor. In Sector 6, the duties of mayor will be taken over by the current vice-mayor Paul Moldovan.
