A 50-year-old woman was rescued from a four-meter-deep well. Firefighters managed to get her out in 15 minutes

A 50-year-old woman was saved, on Friday evening, by the military firefighters from Olt, following an action against the clock. The woman fell into a four-meter-deep well.

The mission in which the rescuers used every minute took place in Strejești, Olt county. The firefighters of the Slatina Detachment who went to the scene of the event managed to bring the woman to the surface in about a quarter of an hour.

“At the scene of the event, a complex vehicle for intervention and extrication, a SMURD crew, as well as two vehicles for first intervention, equipped with specific accessories for interventions in narrow spaces, were quickly mobilized. A crew of the Olt County Ambulance Service also acted in support of the firefighters.

When the crews arrived, the woman, aged 50, was conscious, having fallen into a well with a depth of about four meters and a diameter of about 80 centimeters”. stated the representatives of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations “Matei Basarab” Olt.

The rescuers used the accessories provided to secure the victim, managing to extract him safely. The woman was conscious, but suffered contusions on her face. The medical crew transported her to the Slatina County Emergency Hospital.

The woman would have accidentally fallen into the well in her own household.
