The Presidential Palace is certainly not the place where the Round Table should still be located, the place where it should be is the Polish History Museum – said President Karol Nawrocki on Thursday. The Round Table is being dismantled in the Presidential Palace.

The president made the statement while workers dismantled the Round Table in the background.

– Certainly The Presidential Palace is not the place where the Round Table should still stand. The place where the Round Table should be is a museum – Polish History Museum. We are talking about history. We are giving the Round Table to history. From 2027, visitors to the Polish History Museum will be able to admire it as a historical exhibit, said the president.

He added that “scientific and academic debates will still be able to take place around the Round Table.” – However, in the most important building in the Republic of Poland, the Presidential Palace, the Round Table should not be a symbol that will primarily talk about our future, because today, in the 21st century young Poles (…), but also my generation of Poles, do not have to enter into any agreements with former dictators, communists or post-communists – said Nawrocki.

– I would like to proudly say, and I hope not prematurely, that today, ladies and gentlemen, post-communism has ended in Poland. Long live free Poland, said the president. (PAP)
