On Tuesday in Helsinki, Prime Minister Donald Tusk with leaders including: Finland, Sweden, the Baltic states and Romania took part in the summit of the EU's eastern flank. It was the first meeting in this format.

During the press conference on the plane, during his return to Poland, the head of government was asked about conflicts between PiS politicians and whether, in his opinion, Jarosław Kaczyński controls the Law and Justice party.

It is known that Jarosław Kaczyński has lost the status of the leader of the Polish right or the leader of the Polish right, and it seems that he has lost it definitively, Tusk said. – This is probably the reason why his almost cult status in Law and Justice is disappearing and has actually become a thing of the past – added the head of government.

The Prime Minister also referred to the vice-president of PiS, Mateusz Morawiecki. He assessed that what the former prime minister is currently “doing” is “mind-boggling”and a few months ago it would have been “absolutely unthinkable.” – It's a bit funny that the competition is even on Christmas Eve, from what I've read, right? – said Tusk. – At least sit at one table on Christmas Eve – he added, referring to PiS politicians.

Onet reported earlier that on Tuesday at the PiS headquarters at ul. Nowogrodzka, the party's politicians will gather for the annual Christmas wafer meeting with president Jarosław Kaczyński. “Right after it, former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki invited almost a hundred politicians to his 'alternative' Christmas Eve,” the portal wrote. The text added that Morawiecki's invitation was perceived within the party as a “confrontational gesture” towards the party president.

On Monday, in an interview for Channel Yes! on YouTube When asked what he would call the conflicts between PiS factions recently described in the media, Kaczyński said that it was a dispute, but it did not pose a threat to the party. – Such disputes, which have broken out now for trivial reasons, should end as soon as possible and I hope they will end soon – he said.

Kaczyński said that he talked to Morawiecki on Monday and they agreed on “certain matters.” – The effects (of this conversation – PAP) can be assessed after a slightly longer period of time, but the conversation itself was not the worst – said the PiS leader.

Last Friday, the Presidium of the PiS Political Committee of the party met in Warsaw; Morawiecki did not take part in the meeting, but together with PiS MEPs Daniel Obajtek and former Prime Minister Beata Szydło, he took part in an open meeting organized in Brzozów in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
