A couple celebrating 60 years of marriage was honored in Krasnoturansk

In Krasnoturansk, the couple celebrated their diamond wedding. Vladimir and Valentina Makarov celebrated 60 years of marriage on December 4, the regional registry office reports.

At the ceremony, the spouses were presented with congratulatory addresses from Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov and head of the Idrinsko-Krasnoturansky district Oksana Vaneeva. Representatives of the Veterans Council also congratulated the couple.

As the heroes of the day said, they met in the summer of 1962, and in the fall Vladimir Ivanovich left to serve in the border troops. Valentina Perfilyevna waited for him for three years. After returning they got married. Two sons grew up in the Makarov family, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren appeared.

Valentina Perfilyevna worked in the banking system for many years, headed the Krasnoturansky branch of the State Bank, was the chairman of the Women's Council and received state awards. Vladimir Ivanovich began his career in the Komsomol, and then devoted more than 30 years to journalism – he worked as an editor of regional newspapers, and was a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR. He is still actively involved in public life and is the chairman of the local Border Guard organization.

“Although such meetings are not frequent, they are always significant and valuable for us,” the couple say about their family gatherings around the large table. According to the guests, the Makarov family has become a real example of strong and respectful relationships.
