“It is very possible that, Due to VAT's reassessment, The 5% quota that was for heating and which from August 1 will be 11% to generate an increase in the heating prices of several percent. It is very possible that this happens. Regarding the granting of subsidies, this is the policy of each administrative-territorial unit, that is, of each big city in Romania and here the Government does not intervene to reduce or cancel them ”Bolojan said on B1 TV, according to Agerpres.

According to the prime minister, the decision on granting the subsidies belongs to the local authorities.

“But, if we are correct with the Romanians, this VAT increase in this chapter will mean a slight price increase. Sure, the town halls, the local councils can by the measures they adopt, the increases of subsidies, the subsidy reductions, to influence these rates that the citizens of the big cities pay for the heating in the centralized systems.”said the prime minister.
