Pension payments are growing rapidly. This is already PLN 33.3 billion per month


Exactly 8 million 36 thousand people received retirement and disability benefits in September from ZUS in Poland – the office announced on Thursday. That's 4.3 thousand more. than in August and by 17.8 thousand than in July, but compared to December last year. this number increased only slightly, by about 100 people.

The payouts are different, they grow before your eyes. In September, ZUS spent PLN 33.3 billion on pension benefits, which was as much as PLN 2.6 billion more than before the indexation in February. The average old-age or disability pension was PLN 4,139.46 gross in September and was PLN 322 higher than that paid in December last year. – reported ZUS.
How many people finance pensions and annuities?
ZUS also provided information on how many people contribute, because pensions in ZUS are paid from contributions paid on an ongoing basis, and not from capital investments set aside. At the end of September it amounted to PLN 16,224,000. insured – ZUS reported on its profile on the X platform.
This is quite positive news, because it means that there are more people working and paying contributions. Within a year, their number increased by 19.5 thousand, and within two years by 40.7 thousand. And as we mentioned, the number of retirees is quite stable.
16.2 million insured people: there were 11.5 million employees (70.6 percent insured)working people on a mandate contract, almost PLN 1.5 million (9%)people running non-agricultural business activities (JDG) 1.8 million (11.3%) and unemployed 172 thousand (1.1%).
In other words, the regulations prepared by the government implementing the obligations in the KPO milestones, in which the National Labor Inspectorate could change contracts into a code employment contract, may affect as many as 3.3 million people, or 20.3%. working people, i.e. those performing mandate contracts and those in business.
Nearly 1.3 million of those paying ZUS contributions were foreigners, who constituted 7.9 percent. insured – according to ZUS data. The largest groups here were Ukrainians (854 thousand) and Belarusians (138 thousand). Most foreigners are insured in the province. Masovian Voivodeship (373 thousand), and in second place is the Voivodeship Greater Poland Voivodeship (141 thousand).
