DSP Prahova lifted water restrictions in Câmpina and other localities affected by the Paltinu crisis

The Directorate of Public Health (DSP) Prahova lifted, on Friday, the restrictions on water consumption in the municipality of Câmpina and several other localities affected by the Paltinu crisis, this being the second batch of localities where the water is declared potable.

“The evaluation of the results of the laboratory analyzes of the drinking water samples taken in the Poiana Câmpina, Câmpina, Adunati, Cornu, Filipeştii de Pădure, Băicoi systems (including the Băicoi City Hospital) showed that the parameters analyzed were within the allowed values according to the norms in force (Annex 1/ OG 7/2023). Considering the above, as well as the provisions of OG 7/ 2023 Art. 14, letter c, we state that the ban on water consumption previously imposed by the Prahova County Health Directorate and specified above in the Câmpina, Câmpina, Filipeştii de Pădure, Băicoi systems (including the Băicoi City Hospital) is lifted.it is stated in a press release from the DSP.
For the communes of Aluniş, Vărbilău and Şotrile, the ban on consumption established previously (ban on consumption for drinking, cooking and washing) is maintained, until confirmation of the inclusion of the water supplied at their level in the potability parameters, according to Agerpres.
More than 107,000 people from 13 localities of Prahova county and one town in Dâmboviţa municipality did not have drinking water for a week, after the action of emptying the Paltinu dam to carry out unclogging works, combined with the torrential rains of two weeks ago, caused the turbidity of the water to rise to such an extent that it could no longer be treated.
The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, announced on Wednesday, December 10, that the decision to dismiss the director of the Buzău-Ialomiţa Water Basin Administration (ABA) was sent, after the conclusions of the control body's report were sent to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
