Scandal at IPJ Prahova: a woman accuses a policeman of raping her. How the agent defends himself
A police officer from the 4th Ploiești Precinct was sent to court for using his position for sexual purposes, after a woman who filed a complaint accused him of raping her and subjecting her to sexual abuse at his home. The case will be tried at the Ploiești Court.

According to prosecutors, the woman had initially filed a complaint for fraud. She complained that after being called to the policeman's home, she was forced to have sex. Moreover, she stated that when she returned to the ward to report the abuse, she was sent home.
The agent, a graduate of the “Vasile Lascăr” School of Police Agents from Câmpina in 2023, admitted that he called the woman home and had sexual relations, but claims that they were consensual.
“On April 11, when the management of IPJ Prahova took cognizance of it, I ordered the initiation of a preliminary investigation against the management of the 4th section of Ploiesti and against the policeman in question. Also on the same day, I learned that the lady in question went to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Ploiesti Court where she filed a criminal complaint against the policeman for committing the crime of rape. It remains as the investigation carried out by the Prosecutor's Office to reveal what the truth is in this regard”, said the head of the Prahova County Police Inspectorate, Gabriel Teodor Manuc, according to News.ro.
He added that the policeman “he was very wrong” calling the woman who had filed the complaint to his home, referring to a situation in which she claimed that she was threatened following an exchange of real estate.
The investigation continues, and prosecutors will determine whether the police officer abused his position and whether the relations with the woman were indeed consensual.
In parallel, the IPJ Prahova management is analyzing how the agent violated the ethical rules, in order to prevent similar situations in the future.
