As part of the pilot project, teenagers will receive a Yota SIM card along with their first passport

A pilot project has been launched at the MFC of the Leningrad Region, within the framework of which teenagers will receive Yota SIM cards along with their first passport. During the first three months, they will be able to take advantage of profitable and large packages of mobile Internet and minutes.

According to research, today 96% of teenagers from 12 to 17 years old use the Internet every day and have their own smartphone, spending time mainly on social networks and instant messengers. Therefore, Yota offers teenagers receiving a passport a tariff with a large volume of traffic: during the first three months they will receive 50 GB of Internet and 2,000 minutes, and the total cost of services for the entire period will be only 499 rubles. After the test period, users will be able to choose their own packages and operator options in the tariff designer.

“The first passport is a new stage of growing up, through which about 20 thousand teenagers in the Leningrad region went through last year. We heard their desire to become more independent, so young people receive a SIM card along with their passport – a simple tool that will allow them to choose their own format of communication and entertainment. Now all main profiles are linked to the SIM card – bank accounts, instant messengers and social networks. This literally makes it a person’s second “digital passport,” said Dmitry Chudesnikov, managing director of Yota.

The first project of this kind on the market was created as part of an agreement between Yota and the MFC of the Leningrad Region. In the near future it will cover multifunctional centers in St. Petersburg, and subsequently in all regions of the country.

MegaFon is also implementing a joint project with the MFC. The affiliate program allows existing and new subscribers to purchase operator SIM cards at the sites of multifunctional centers and, thus, significantly reduce the time spent on completing an agreement. Since June, the geography of this service has expanded, including to the territories of Siberia and the Far East. You can buy a MegaFon SIM card in the network of MFCs in the Altai Republic, the Tyva Republic, the Tomsk and Irkutsk regions, in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) and the Khabarovsk Territory.
