In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, two criminal cases were opened against an elderly resident of the Birilyussky district for knowingly giving false testimony. As the prosecutor's office said, the woman lied twice to the investigation and the court in defense of her son, who was stealing money from her.

She reported her first crime to the police in the summer of 2025. The woman was recognized as a victim in a criminal case of robbery (Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), but, despite explanations of her rights and warnings about liability, she gave false testimony to the investigator and then to the court, denying the theft of money. The son, believing in impunity, after the court hearing again openly stole the entire pension from her wallet, intended for food and medicine. In tears, the woman again turned to law enforcement officers. The son hid in another locality, but was promptly detained.

“I forgave my son, I gave the money myself,” the mother said in court in the second case, again lying contrary to the facts and warnings.

For two robberies, the man was sentenced to 2 years of forced labor. The convictions came into force after appeal.

Now, under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, a preliminary investigation is underway against the woman herself. The crime she is charged with under Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for the following types of punishment: a fine of up to 80 thousand rubles, or compulsory or correctional labor, or arrest for up to 3 months.
