Russian President Vladimir Putin announced new measures to support families with children in 2026. During a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects on December 8, he announced a significant increase in payments from employers at the birth of a child.

According to the new rules, from January 1, 2025, the maximum amount that companies can pay their employees will increase from 50 thousand to 1 million rubles. It is important that these funds will not be subject to personal income tax and insurance premiums.
As IrkutskMedia news agency reports, this change is part of the corporate demographic standard, designed to more actively involve business in solving the country's demographic problems.
In addition, from 2026 it is planned to introduce a new regular family payment. Families with two or more children who have a low level of income will be able to receive it. Specific criteria and mechanism for receiving this support will be specified closer to the date of introduction of the program.
