“Many of the types of decisions that are made on an ongoing basis at the central bank are basically a one-person decision of the president. The president can delegate them to someone, but he can also withdraw this delegation,” Joanna Tyrowicz said on Wednesday.
When asked whether an attempt to change the regulations could actually change the situation at NBP, she replied that “maybe, but not for the better.” In her opinion, the bank is not good at research and the money is being wasted. She even used the statement that at the NBP there is “Byzantium in many respects“.
TVN24 writes that one of the proposals submitted by members of the NBP management board who want changes is to introduce the principle that awards and bonuses for the president and his main deputies would be decided by the bank's management board, and not the president himself.
