
They wanted to close the former Elektrozavod building that burned down in Moscow before the New Year. The prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to suspend activities in October, but it is still pending in court.
Problems with wiring, sprinklers, alarms, fire extinguishers and ventilation at the facility have been found since 2019. Plus, as the fire on February 8 showed, some emergency exits are closed.
The enterprise is classified as a high risk category and is a facility with a large number of people. And the responsible officials and the director of Elektrokombinat LLC were repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility, fines, and also to suspension of activities for 90 days. All for the same violations of fire safety requirements.
On February 8, during a fire at Elektrozavod, 5 people were hospitalized. At least 120 visitors left the building on their own, 80 people were rescued by firefighters.
