Deputy Cristina Prună reacts harshly after the score of 13.9% obtained by Cătălin Drula, ranked 4th in the elections for Bucharest. Prună says that the USR, whose construction she put her shoulder to, was about state reform, about more power in the hands of the people and less in the hands of politicians: “We have to go back to that. Otherwise, the USR will be history.”
In a message posted on Facebook on Monday, USR deputy Cristina Prună says that the party “is now, once again, at a crossroads”.
“Either she keeps it that way, or she returns to the values that earned her people's trust: meritocracy, honest resumes, school on her own time and clear right-wing ideas, not meaningless slogans.
We must tell the truth. Even if it's hard and I'll get attacked by some for it. The USR of now is not the honest USR that was once successful.
The USR that I put my shoulder to the construction of was not about positions held based on party loyalties, lukewarm positions in the state at any cost or the cementing of barony and party nomenclature. The USR in the construction of which I put my shoulder was about the reform of the state, about more power in the hands of the people and less in the hands of politicians.
This is what we must return to. Otherwise, USR will be history”, says Cristina Prună.
