The National Meteorological Administration issued a series of heat codes for this weekend on Saturday morning. The wave of heat will cover almost the whole country until Sunday, the day when a red code of heat will be valid in three counties in the south of the country, the first such warning.
On Monday, the heat wave will be maintained in most of the country, and in the south it will continue to intensify, warned meteorologists.
Orange Code of heat wave, Saturday
In the counties of Mehedinți, Gorj, Vâlcea, Dolj, Olt and Teleorman, the heat wave will be kept intensely, it will be heat, accentuated thermal discomfort, and the temperature-humidity index will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.
The maximum temperatures will be between 37 and 40 degrees, and the minimums will not go down below 20 degrees, characterizing a tropical night.

On Saturday, most of Muntenia, locally in Transylvania, southern Banat and Dobrogea, the heat and high thermal discomfort will persist, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will easily exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. The maximum temperatures will be between 33 and 37 degrees, and the minimum ones generally between 15 and 20 degrees.
Red Code Sunday, thermal discomfort that is particularly accentuated
The heat wave will continue to intensify, and in Mehedinți, Dolj and Olt counties there will be maximum temperatures of 39 … 41 degrees.
