ZUS accelerates payments for the holidays. What dates do seniors need to know?

The Social Insurance Institution has established standard dates for payment of pensions and annuities: the 1st, 6th, 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th of each month – reminds the portal polsatnews.pl. If one of these days falls on a Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday, ZUS makes the transfer earlier – on the last business day before the original date. Thanks to this, seniors can calmly plan their expenses, avoiding unpleasant surprises related to delays in payments.

January retirement on New Year's Eve
Additionally, it is worth remembering about the turn of December and January. As summarized by polsatnews.pl, pSince January 1, 2026 is New Year's Day, and it is a public holiday, retirees and disability pensioners who are paid on the first day of the month will receive their January pension on December 31, 2025. This means that in December 2025, some seniors will effectively receive two benefits. This is not an additional payment, but an advance transfer of a standard benefit that will allow you to better prepare for Christmas expenses.
By announcing changes in the ZUS payment schedule, seniors can plan their finances in advance, prepare a shopping list or pay bills, without the risk that transfers will arrive late. It is worth paying attention to these dates and checking them in the official ZUS announcements to get through the holiday season and the beginning of the new year without stress.
