The Directorate of Public Health (DSP) Prahova that the water from the Voila station meets the necessary parameters for human consumption, according to the announcement made on Sunday by the Prahova County Council (CJ), which specified that new analyzes will be made, on samples from the distribution system operated by Hidro Prahova, after the company establishes that the system is optimized, reports News.ro.
In the press release sent on Sunday, CJ Prahova announced that DSP “completed the microbiological analyzes carried out at the ESZ Voila treatment station, before the water was introduced into the distribution system operated by Hidro Prahova”, and “the results are in accordance with the values provided by OG no. 7/2023 and HG no. 971/2024, which means that the water treated in this station is potable”.
“Following the checks, DSP Prahova confirmed that the water that left the Voila station meets the necessary parameters for human consumption. After Hidro Prahova will announce that the system is optimized, the DSP teams will also take samples from the distribution system operated by Hidro Prahova”, the release states.
“These analyzes are essential”
The institution explained that “these analyzes are essential, because the network was emptied for several days, and the pipelines went through refilling, washing, chlorination and repair of some damages that occurred during priming”.
“In such situations there are additional risks, and the checks must be carried out after the complete stabilization of the system”, notes CJ Prahova.
According to the institution, the intermediate readings of the microbiological analyzes are done 24 hours and 48-50 hours after the seeds are sown in the laboratory, and the final result is validated after 72 hours. Thus, only after this interval, the water from the distribution can be officially declared potable.
More than 107,000 people from 13 localities in Prahova County and a town in Dâmbovița did not receive potable water in the centralized system for a week, after the water in the Paltinu dam rose by about 12 meters and could not be properly treated to become potable.
