Hermannstadt, which was recently left without a technician after the dismissal of Marius Măldărășanu, is looking for a new coach.
Daniel Oprița (44 years old), coach of the Steaua Bucharest team, is one of the options that the club from Sibiu is considering for this position.
Daniel Oprița: “I want to come to Sibiu”
The Hermannstadt crisis continues. Left without a coach after the dismissal of Marius Măldărășanu, the team from Sibiu lost on Sunday on the field of Cluj University, score 0-3. Daniel Oprița, the technician of Stela, is one of the possible options for the Sibiu bench. He himself confirmed for the first time that he wants to go to the Super League team.
“I am also interested in going to Sibiu, like those from FC Hermannstadt, but my contractual situation does not allow me to go. I have many years at CSA Steaua, thanks to them I had results and thus I have these offers. I want to come to Sibiu, I also discussed at the club, I will have another discussion, I hope we can solve it somehow and Steaua will understand me.
I also have a termination clause, it is also about my staff, because whoever comes later, will come with his collaborators. This is what we discussed I hope we can find a solution and let me go to Sibiu. That's if I'm still wanted, because in the last few days I haven't talked to anyone from FC Hermannstadt”, said Daniel Oprița for Ora de Sibiu.
One of the reasons why Oprița wants to leave is the lack of prospects for promotion with Steaua Bucharest. He has already been with the team from Ghencea for six years and is tempted to make the move to the Super League team. The coach will leave only with the agreement of the military club management.
“The situation is a complicated one at FC Hermannstadt, but they have been in the same situation before and managed to get out of there. I watched the match in Cluj, when you enter this crisis, the place puts pressure on you, it's not easy, even if you have valuable players, you can feel the pressure. They need to tie 2-3 positive results and then the situation would be adjusted”, Oprița also declared.
After 19 stages played in the current League 1 season, Hermannstadt is in 15th place, with only 12 points, being in a direct relegation spot.
