Four youths were arrested on Saturday after throwing vanilla cream and apple cake at a display case housing the British crown jewels at the Tower of London, as part of a protest against inequality in Britain, reports The Guardian.

Police were called shortly before 10:00 a.m. local time on Saturday after the display case containing the Imperial Crown was vandalized.

The Metropolitan Police said four people had been arrested on suspicion of vandalism and that the Tower of London's Jewel House, one of London's most popular tourist attractions, was partially closed to the public while police investigated.

The youths are part of a self-proclaimed non-violent civil resistance group called Take Back Power.

Footage shared by the group shows a protester throwing a pie tray at the window protecting the crown. Another poured a container of cream on the front of the shop window.

“Four protesters threw food over the window before two of them left the scene. Officers worked closely with the police and City of London security officers and four people were arrested on suspicion of damaging property. They have been taken into custody,” a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.

Take Back Power said it organized the action to call on the UK government to set up a permanent citizens' assembly – a “People's House” – with the power to “tax extreme wealth and fix Britain”.
