The message sent by CTP for pensioners. The solution to avoid queues for free public transport passes

Pensioners over the age of 70 can extend their subscriptions for the next year directly from the machines in public transport stations, is the CTP message.

The Cluj-Napoca Public Transport Company (CTP) informs pensioners that it is time to renew their free public transport subscriptions, as they expire at the end of December.

“Dear seniors, don't forget that the free transport passes expire in December. Please request in time to load the cards for 2026. We remind you that in order to avoid queues at the Sales Centers, only in the month of December pensioners over 70 can renew the passes for the next year directly from the automatic machines in the stations. The instructions for extending the pass are displayed at each station and on our website www.ctpcj.ro, where you can also find a tutorial with all the steps to perform. Who benefits from free subscriptions

According to them, the following categories benefit from free subscriptions:

– Free subscriptions on all lines for:

a) pensioners whose income on the pension coupon under the heading “Total rights” is up to 3,600 lei;

b) elderly persons defined according to art. 1 paragraph (4) of Law no. 17/2000 who have reached the age of 70, regardless of the pension amount;

c) honorary citizens of Cluj-Napoca, war veterans and widows, revolutionaries and descendants of martyred heroes residing in Cluj-Napoca.

– Free subscriptions on 1 line, granted to: pensioners whose income on the pension coupon under the heading “Total rights” is between 3,601 and 4,500 lei.

* For pensioners classified in the first degree of disability, who are entitled, in addition to the pension, to an allowance for the companion, in a fixed amount (which can be found on the pension coupon in the expression “S.fixă” = Fixed amount), only the income recorded on the pension coupon under the heading “pension” will be taken into account (according to the provisions of art. 77, paragraph (1) of Law no. 263/2010 regarding the unitary system of public pensions, with subsequent amendments and additions) and not the income registered under the heading “Total rights”.

What documents are required

The documents required at the Card Sales Centers are as follows (without copies):

– The transport card issued in previous years;

– Identity card in original;

– For retirees under the age of 70: Pension Coupon or Retirement Decision from the current or previous month; Medical decision for sick retirees; Survivor's pension decision;

– Evidence regarding the quality of honorary citizens, war veterans and widows, revolutionaries and descendants of martyred heroes;

The first card (for those who did not have a transport card) will be issued on the spot, free of charge.
