Context
The film “Bucha” is a fictional drama, the plot of which is based on real events. The main character is a foreigner who decided to fight evil in the country that has become his home.
The plot of the film is based on the events that occurred in the cities of the Kyiv region Bucha, Vorzel and Gostomel during the Russian occupation in February – March 2022. The film tells about the rescue of local residents by Konstantin Gudauskas, a citizen of Kazakhstan who received asylum in Ukraine and lived in Bucha. With the beginning of the Russian invasion, thanks to his Kazakh passport, he was able to travel to the territory occupied by Russian troops and evacuate civilians.
The main roles in the film “Bucha” were played by Polish actor Cezary Lukashevich and Ukrainian actor Vyacheslav Dovzhenko.
The premiere of the film “Butcha” in Ukraine took place in September 2024.
