Gen. Oleksandr Syrski pointed to Ukraine's tactics
According to Syrski, Russian the armed forces have twice as many artillery shells as the Ukrainian onesbut the range and striking power of Ukrainian drones make it difficult for the enemy to effectively use artillery. As he emphasized, currently 60 percent attacks are carried out by drones. As he noted, the Russian army “is currently trying to advance practically along the entire front line.”
“Our strategy is to exhaust the Russian army as much as possiblepreventing its progress, maintaining the territory, and at the same time attacking the enemy – both its close (military) support as part of operational missions, and (…) Russia itself, in order to weaken its defense capabilities and industrial potential,” Syrski said in an interview for the British station.
In his opinion, Russia uses peace negotiations organized by the US as a “cover”, to try to take over further territories on the battlefield by force.
He assured that Ukrainian soldiers will continue to fight even if diplomacy fails. He warned that the fate of all of Europe was at stake. Sky News recalled that “almost four years after the invasion began, Russia occupies almost one fifth of Ukraine, including a significant part of Donbas.”
