Trump, while talking to reporters, again repeated that under him, the war of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation against Ukraine would never have started and that it should have been resolved earlier.
Without mentioning the name of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, he recalled their scandalous meeting in the White House at the end of February.
“You know, when I was in this office and talked about the lack of “cards” … I said: “You have no cards.” That’s when they had to negotiate. I think this would have been a much better time for agreements, but their “wisdom” decided not to do it. They have a lot of factors against them now,” Trump said.
He once again emphasized that yesterday the American delegation had a “very good meeting” with Putin.
“I can’t tell you what came out of this meeting, because it takes two to tango. You know, Ukraine… I think we did something good with them. They’re very pleased, given the circumstances,” Trump said.
Context
On December 2, Putin, Vitkoff and Kushner discussed several “peace plan” projects at negotiations in Moscow for about five hours, assistant to the illegitimate Russian president Yuri Ushakov reported after the meeting. According to him, “no compromise was found” on the territorial issue. One of the key issues at the negotiations was Ukraine’s membership in NATO, Ushakov pointed out.
The White House said on December 3 that Witkoff and Kushner informed Trump and the Ukrainian side about the “productive” meeting with Putin. On the same day, the US President expressed the opinion that Putin “would like to end the war.”
The meeting of the US and Russian delegations in Moscow took place after negotiations between the Ukrainian and American sides on the “peace plan” on November 23 in Geneva and November 30 in Miami.
On December 2, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that there were 20 points in the “peace plan,” but “some things still need to be worked out.” The three most important and sensitive issues are territories, frozen assets of the Russian Federation and security guarantees for Ukraine, the president indicated.
After the meeting with Putin, Vitkoff and Kushner will hold negotiations on the “peace plan” with the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, in Miami on December 4, the media wrote.
