Work has begun on the huge 100 million euro project: “It will be the first in Romania!”

The work on the new stadium in Pitesti, an investment estimated at 100 million euros and designed to accommodate around 15,000 spectators, is about to start. The demolition of the old arena, which began in June 2023 and ended in August of the same year, has left room for one of the most ambitious sports constructions in the country.

The news was confirmed by Dani Coman (46 years old), the president of FC Argeș, who announced that the construction site could be officially opened in a very short time.
The new stadium in Pitesti promises to become a modern landmark in the sports infrastructure in Romania, a project that will fundamentally change the image of football in the city and will give the FC Argeș club a home commensurate with its tradition.
“It will be the first stadium in Romania (no of those in the new plan) where the works will begin. Depending on how time will allow us, but I think that in a month the works could start. The works would take two years and three months.
An emulation has even been created around this club. The town hall is with the team. No matter what we did, the results bring people to the stadium.
25% of this project will be financed by the town hall. The remaining 75% comes from CNI. The big advantage we have is that we have a mayor who loves football, who loves this team.
This is the great advantage of the city. I have nothing to reproach them from any point of view”, said Dani Coman, at Football Club.
Two stadiums in the works, one ready in 2026
The city in the west of the country has two major projects underway, and one of them is nearing the finish line. The “Heroes of the Revolution” stadium, whose value has risen to approximately 23 million euros, compared to the original estimate of 17 million, is scheduled to be ready in 2026.
Football player Romario Benzar (33 years old) said that Poli Timișoara, a team currently in League 3, could play in the new arena in two years, an important step in the club's reconstruction process.
“The new stadium, with 10,000 seats, will be ready in the spring. The big one is coming. This one is 80% done. Things are moving fast in Timișoara. The stadium will be ready by summer at the latest. It's an emulation”, said Romario Benzar, at Digi Sport Matinal.
Reversal of the situation in the project of the new “Dan Păltinișanu” stadium
The project of the new “Dan Păltinișanu” arena in Timișoara is again at a standstill after an important decision from the court. The Bucharest Court of Appeal judged the appeal filed in the case of the appeal concerning the tender organized by the National Investment Company for the construction of the stadium and decided. The bid declared the winner must be reevaluated.
The association led by Concelex, ranked second in the auction, contested the result at the Bucharest Court in April, but the action was rejected there. The company later appealed, and the Court of Appeal completely reversed the situation.
According to the information published by news.ro, the court annulled the result of the auction, forcing CNI to resume the procedure of analyzing the offers for one of the most important sports projects in the west of the country.
