Volkswagen, Samsung, Volvo, which left the Russian Federation, will not be able to return under the same conditions. All their production facilities acquired Russian owners. No buyback option.
Mash was told about this by sources in the governments of several regions where the largest production facilities were located. The most illustrative example is the Kaluga region. Due to its geographical location, well-known companies took an eye on it 20 years ago: Volkswagen, Samsung, Volvo, Mitsubishi. All of them left the Russian Federation in 2022. Now their places have been taken by Russian entrepreneurs. According to the interlocutors, the only option for those who want to return is to build their factories from scratch without the previous benefits.
Volkswagen (already AGR), like Mitsubishi, produces the Chinese HAVAL. Last year, about a thousand cars were produced, approximately 150 thousand are planned for 2025. The Samsung plant also acquired a new owner – VVP Group. Now they make electronics for M-Video and Eldorado stores there. And Volvo Trucks (AMO) produces trucks. The same situation applies to the German Siemens AG. The company has changed its owner, now it is Voronezh Transformer. And Indesit in Lipetsk was bought by the Turkish holding Arcelik.
