The Ukrainian Armed Forces told how they managed to turn the situation around in the Kupyansk area

The video was published on the YouTube channel “Facti ICTV”.

According to Tregubov, Kupyansk has long occupied a significant place in Russian propaganda stories, and the enemy military command tried to present the situation as a “victory story” and even made statements in early November about the alleged capture of the city.

“In the end, I [нелегитимный российский президент Владимир] Putin came out with a story that that’s it, Kupyansk has already been taken. In Kupyansk-Uzlovoy there are 15 Ukrainian battalions “cordoned off”. But at that time this situation did not correspond to any reality at all. And, moreover, it was rolling in the exact opposite direction,” noted the head of the communications department of the Joint Forces group.

If at the beginning of November the Russians “really had some hope,” then in the middle of the month the Ukrainian troops were “very careful,” but “managed to turn the situation around,” Tregubov said.

“Push the Russians out to the northern regions, cut them off from supplies and begin to slowly destroy and liquidate them there. Therefore, just when Putin began to make these statements, just then the situation on the ground changed to the diametric opposite. The situation on the ground changed into a trap for Russian troops. And this led to such a gap, between the declarative and the real,” explained a representative of the Joint Forces group.

According to Tregubov, the occupiers “definitely” do not control even half of Kupyansk.

He also stressed that the Russians do not have the ability to effectively transport reinforcements to the city.

“We managed to create a kill zone around the city quite effectively and destroy those who try to crawl there with the help of UAVs,” said Tregubov. “No matter how many they pull there [подкреплений]you still need to somehow make your way to the city itself, right? But for the drone, it doesn’t matter how many people are crawling there, it will still destroy it.”

Commenting on the situation in Volchansk, Kharkov region, Tregubov said that the city was practically destroyed to the state of “ground rubble.”

Russian troops occupy a significant part of it, while Ukrainian units hold the southern part, summarized the head of the communications department of the Joint Forces group.

Context

On October 22, the Russian publication “Verstka” wrote that the command of the Russian army had already promised Putin the capture of Kupyansk, therefore, in order to improve the positions of the occupying forces, Moscow was delaying the peace negotiation process.

In November, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Russia had failed another deadline set by Putin for the capture of Kupyansk.

On November 20, Putin said that “about 15 battalions” of Ukrainian military personnel were blocked in the Kupyansk area, and the Chief of the Russian General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, reported on the alleged capture of Kupyansk.

The Insider noted that even Russian “military correspondents” propagandists criticized Gerasimov for publishing false information, in particular about the situation in Kupyansk.

On November 27, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian invaders were blocked in Kupyansk.

On November 28, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, said that the scale of the Russian Federation’s lies about Kupyansk is astounding.

On December 2, Putin said that the occupiers allegedly “completely control” Kupyansk, and “have been for several weeks now.” The Russians “have “successes” only in the area of propaganda,” Syrsky pointed out on the same day.
