Volodymyr Zelensky unexpectedly canceled his meeting with the US delegation. The reasons remain a mystery
The meeting was to be held with the participation of Steve Witkoff, special envoy of the US President, and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former President Donald Trump. According to information provided by Kyiv Post correspondent Alex Raufoglu, the talks were to cover key issues related to ending the war against Ukraine.

It is worth emphasizing here that it was not supposed to be an ordinary meeting. The talks were scheduled a day after the same American delegation met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
Reuters reports that Ukraine's chief negotiator, Rustem Umerov, is scheduled to meet European representatives in Brussels on Wednesday. His talks are then planned in the United States.
Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelensky completed his European trip, during which he visited, among others, Paris and Dublin, and returns to Kiev. The reasons for canceling his meeting with the US delegation have not yet been revealed.
No breakthrough in talks between Russia and the US
On Tuesday, the President of Russia met in Moscow with American envoys: Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The talks lasted almost five hours, but did not bring about the expected breakthrough.
As Yuri Ushakov, advisor to Vladimir Putin, said: the parties have not moved closer to peace, but neither have they moved away from it.
According to Ushakov, dthe delegations failed to reach a compromise on one of the key issues, regarding the territory of Ukraine. The Kremlin adviser described the talks as constructive, noting, however, that the positions of both sides still differ significantly.

An expert at the Institute for the Study of War in Washington, George Barros, stated that Russia rejected the terms accepted by Ukraine and the US. He pointed out that Moscow is not ready to negotiate solutions other than the capitulation of Ukraine and the West, and also emphasized that Putin should not be allowed to further deceive the American administration.
