Strategic expansion in Poland
The factory in Łozienica near Goleniów has been operating since 2009 This year, Vestas finalized the takeover of the plant from the American company LM Wind Power. Another Vestas plant already operates in Szczecin, producing hubs and nacelles for offshore wind turbines, where 700 people are also employed.
The expansion of the factory is the next stage of the company's strategic expansion in Europe. Vestas currently has 10 production plants on the Old Continent, supplying both onshore and offshore markets.
Jagna Kubańska-Łyczakowska, responsible for public relations at Vestas Poland and Baltic, noted that the investment in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship is a step towards the economic development of the region and local jobs.

Suspension of the project in Szczecin
Vestas planned to launch a large factory in the north of the city in Szczecin in 2026. Over a thousand people were supposed to work there. In October this year However, it was announced that this project had been suspended.
This was justified, according to the British Financial Times, by difficulties in the development of offshore wind energy in Europe. Indicated, among others: to rising production costs and changes in the global wind energy market. In her commentary for “FT”, she also drew attention to “political obstacles”, e.g. from the US, which sees the future of the energy sector differently than the EU.
The investment in Skolwin in Szczecin was to be the largest Vestas factory in Poland and specialize in the production of blades for huge wind turbines, including the V236-15MW model (turbines with a rotor diameter of 236 m and blade length of 115.5 m).
Vestas turbines are installed, among others, in the Baltic Power offshore wind farm (project of Orlen and Northland Power) with a planned capacity of 1.2 GW.
According to government plans, by 2040 Poland would obtain up to 18 GW of power from offshore wind farms.
