The fee for issuing a driving license will increase by PLN 15 and PLN 50 and will amount to PLN 115 and PLN 50 – according to the draft regulation of the Ministry of Infrastructure, published on Tuesday on the website of the Government Legislation Center. The fee for issuing an international driving license will also increase.

On Tuesday, a draft regulation amending the regulation on the amount of fees for issuing documents confirming driving license was published on the website of the Government Legislation Center.
In the justification attached to the project, the Ministry of Infrastructure pointed out that the current rates for issuing a driving license have been in force for 12 years despite, among others, an increase in inflation and an increase in the minimum wage.
“The data presented by the local government also shows that in none of the large cities, the administrative fees charged by starostes for issuing a driving license do not fully cover the costs of carrying out related tasks; in 2023, local governments paid an amount of over PLN 30.5 million for the operation of communication departments,” the ministry emphasized.
Therefore, as indicated by the ministry, the project proposes increasing fees based on the average annual price indices of consumer goods and services in general for the years 2023 and 2024. The fee for issuing a driving license is to amount to PLN 115.50 (previously PLN 100), and for issuing an international driving license – PLN 40.50 (previously PLN 35).
The regulation enters into force 14 days after its announcement. (PAP)
