Ukrainian Storm Shadow missiles hit a chemical plant in Bryansk


The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced via the Telegram platform on Wednesday that it had carried out a day earlier massive attack on a chemical plant in the Bryansk Oblast, Russia. The operation used, among others, British long-range Storm Shadow missiles.
“They successfully defeated the Russian air defense system“, we read in the official statement.
Ukraine attacks Russian weapons factories
The attacked chemical plant plays a key role in the Russian military industry. As the Ukrainian staff emphasizes, this factory produces, among others: gunpowder, explosives and rocket fuel components. The products manufactured there are used in ammunition and missiles that Russia uses in attacks on Ukraine.

Ukraine thanked its international partners for the support that makes such operations possible. “The armed forces of Ukraine continue to carry out attacks on strategic objects of the military-industrial complex on the territory of Russia, weakening the offensive potential of the aggressor country,” the statement emphasized.
Ukraine attacks Russia with Storm Shadow missiles
The Storm Shadow missiles used in this operation are cruise missiles with a range of 250-300 km, launched from aircraft. Equipped with advanced guidance systems, they are characterized by high accuracy and the ability to avoid terrain obstacles thanks to the built-in GPS system.

According to Bloomberg, Ukraine first used these missiles to fire at targets on Russian territory in November 2024. Since then, these weapons have become one of the key elements in the arsenal of the Ukrainian army, enabling it to precisely attack strategic targets.
