How much does a cleaning agent from the Romanian Parliament earn. Employees threaten a general strike

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan was met on Tuesday in the Parliament, when he came to attend the procedure of assuming responsibility regarding the Draft Law on service pensions, by trade unionists who launched threats of a strike and complained about low salaries.

ProTV news showed what the lowest salaries of Parliament employees are, in fact – outraged by the partial cuts in increments decided by the Bolojan Government – presenting for comparison, some average net salaries at the level of economic sectors.
On one of the salary flyers presented to the public by the protesters in the Parliament, belonging to a “cleaning agent”, a gross salary of 7,039 lei and a net salary of 3,822 lei appear. From the flyer it appears that 200 lei were withheld in the account of a CAR and another 44 lei for the “telephone”. However, the net salary exceeds the amount of 4,000 lei.

According to the most recent data provided by the National Institute of Statistics, the average net salary in the economy amounts to 5,443 lei.
The highest wages were earned in oil and natural gas extraction, and the lowest in hotels and restaurants and in the textile industry.
The average net salary in agriculture, hunting and related services was 4,234 lei.
In forestry, it was 4,895 lei. In the public administration, the average net salary was 6,930 lei.
The average net salary in the extractive industry reached 7,742 lei, the INS also shows.
In the field of oil and natural gas extraction, it was 12,433 lei, in the extraction of upper and lower coal 7,181 lei, in other extractive activities 4,702 lei, and in service activities related to extraction 9,044 lei.
When it comes to the manufacturing industry, the average net salary was 4,955 lei, and in the food industry, 4,133 lei. In the manufacture of beverages – 6,041 lei, in the manufacture of tobacco products – 9,364 lei, and in the manufacture of clothing – 3,446 lei.
In transport, net wages were 5,400 lei for land and pipeline transport, 10,602 lei in air transport and 3,938 lei in postal and courier activities.
In hotels and restaurants, the average net salary was 3,383 lei.
We remind you that the union of Employees of the Government's Work Apparatus (SAALG) also rejected on Wednesday the reform of the public administration proposed by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and sent a firm warning: in the event of a reduction in the salaries of civil servants, it will trigger protests and actions that could prevent the normal conduct of Government meetings.
