Disabled people in Krasnoyarsk have reduced the number of social taxi trips

December 3 10:40

In Krasnoyarsk, the number of trips by social taxi has been reduced for visually impaired people. The corresponding resolution was published on the legal portal of the mayor's office.

Now, instead of 10 trips per month, people with disabilities can call a taxi to travel around the city only 5 times. The norm will come into force on January 1, 2026.

City Council deputy Vladimir Zhuravlev drew attention to the problem. In his Telegram channel, he wrote that back in mid-November he received requests from visually impaired residents of Krasnoyarsk with complaints about problems with social taxi. They assure that it is difficult to get through to the dispatch service, and the time to sign up for a trip sometimes reaches 2 weeks. MP I asked the head of the social protection department, Olga Kachanova, for a comment on this matter.

“The answer was surprising: “the service is in little demand.” According to the department, people with disabilities allegedly use social taxis only 5-6 times a month,” noted Vladimir Zhuravlev.

Vladimir Zhuravlev noted that for many people with disabilities this is not a “service” – but the only way to live fully, independently and with dignity. He sent complaints and a deputy request to the prosecutor's office.
