The man suspected of killing a National Guard soldier and wounding another soldier last week near the White House has been charged with, among others, first-degree murder and assault, the AP reported. The Afghan pleaded not guilty.
The suspect, 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who was shot, is in hospital and appeared in court via video link.
The lawyer said on his behalf that the man pleaded not guilty. (PAP)
