Deputy Victor Ponta, excluded from the party led by Sorin Grindeanu, but who is still a parliamentarian affiliated to the PSD group from the Chamber of Deputies, signed the motion of censure against the Government led by Ilie Bolojan, of which the PSD is also a part, according to the images captured by the HotNews reporter present in the Parliament.

Contacted by HotNews, Victor Ponta confirmed that he signed the censure motion entitled “Government without USR”.

So far, Victor Ponta is the only parliamentarian affiliated with the coalition parties who signed the censure motion, according to HotNews sources.

Sorin Grindeanu: “We have no nuances here”

Asked on Tuesday at Parliament what will happen if some PSD MPs sign a motion of censure against the Government, PSD president Sorin Grindeanu did not give a clear answer.

“PSD is part of the coalition. We have no nuances here. I have not seen a motion at this moment. There are issues that we will discuss”, said Sorin Grindeanu.

When the motion will be filed

The censure motion is initiated by the PACE – First Romania group in the Senate, made up of parliamentarians elected on the SOS Romania lists, and is supported by the AUR parliamentarians who will sign and vote on it.

The initiators obtained the required number of signatures to submit the motion, 116, according to HotNews' political sources. In order for the censure motion to pass, 233 votes out of 465 are needed, a number that the opposition does not have. In total, the four parties (PSD-PNL-USR-UDMR) that form the government have 294 MPs, to which are added 17 deputies from the group of national minorities, a group that supports the Government in Parliament.

The motion will be submitted on Friday, December 5, according to the initiators.

“It is separate from the assumption, we do not submit on today's assumption of the prime minister (ed.: on the project regarding the pensions of magistrates)”, explained the same sources.
