The Minister of Health, emergency visit to Prahova to assess the critical situation generated by the lack of water

The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, is traveling to Prahova County on Tuesday, December 2, to assess the critical situation caused by the lack of water. The official will have a meeting with hospital managers, the leadership of the Public Health Directorate (DSP) Prahova and representatives of the State Sanitary Inspection, to establish the necessary measures to ensure the continuity of medical services.

The Ministry of Health announced that “The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, will go to the Prahova County Council today, where he urgently summoned the director of the Prahova Public Health Directorate, the representatives of the State Sanitary Inspection and the managers of the hospitals in the county affected by the lack of drinking water”.

The representatives of the ministry specify that “the objective of the meeting is to quickly assess the situation in the health system in the county and establish the necessary measures to protect patients and ensure the continuity of medical services“.

In the meantime, ISU Prahova continues the distribution of domestic water to medical units and the population affected by the interruption of water supply. Until Tuesday noon, the firefighters delivered 49,500 liters of domestic water to various localities, including hospitals, centers for the elderly, autism centers, town halls and cultural homes. ISU Prahova mentioned that “domestic water transports to the mentioned locations take place continuously, the water being constantly supplemented according to needs“.

Also, the firefighters from the Câmpina Detachment offered support for the distribution of drinking water bottles to the population at the St. Parascheva Church in the Câmpina municipality.

Resumption of water supply, only next week

Water supply problems affect more than 107,000 people in Prahova and Dâmboviţa counties, after, on Friday evening, the supply was stopped due to problems at the Paltinu dam. The President of the Prahova County Council announced that, although the supply of water from the reservoir will resume on Tuesday, it will not reach the final consumer “earlier than Monday”because the treatment plants must be primed and the installations must be filled with water.
